Google is bring back missing out on reviews in Google Service Profiles after fixing a bug that caused them to get erased.

Google is repairing a bug that triggered evaluations to go missing from Google Company Profiles. Google validates evaluations are getting restored. Google’s Search Liaison, Danny Sullivan, revealed on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who states he reported the bug a week back.

Blumenthal isn’t overemphasizing the seriousness of the bug. Reviews are a dining establishment’s support, and removing them can considerably affect earnings.

There are many threads in the Google Organization Profile assist forums begun by company owner who lost most or all of their reviews.

In each thread, the business owners share one thing in typical. After using Google’s suggested edits to their organization profile, they all lost reviews.

Blumenthal composes in a blog post that he found Google was changing the customer identification (CID) number when organizations applied suggested edits:

“With some digging, I found that in each case Google had actually altered the CID, the identifier Google uses to connect all appropriate details to a service, consisting of evaluations. Normally the CID only alters when two listings combine or Google has actually hard-suspended a listing for standards offenses and then renewed it.”

Consumer evaluations are associated with a specific CID number, which indicates altering the CID gets rid of the reviews.

That need to never ever occur, especially not when using Google’s recommended edits.

A fix is on the method, and ideally, it’s as simple as reverting the impacted Google Service Profiles to their initial CID numbers.

We’ll update this post if Google shares additional info.
